A Chaotic Christmas Week And Holiday Cheer Is Here

Wow, what a week this has been and it’s not even Christmas yet!  I’m so sorry I’ve been mostly M.I.A., between work, shopping, my work party and normal everyday life it’s been a chaotic week.  If you follow me on Instagram you were able to see some of it.  Give me a Follow so you can get a sneak peek into our crazy little life.

Before I check out for a couple of days to be with family and finish preparing for Christmas, two more sleeps, I wanted to share what has been going on in our world!

The Giant Art Jar by Alex Toys is a lifesaver.  We were stuck inside this past weekend and Addie needs to be doing something.  This Craft jar has saved my sanity more times than I can count.  It has all of the craft goodies you could need from construction paper and glue to sparkles, buttons and flowers.  Seriously is the best craft kit we’ve ever owned and we’ve owned a lot in Addie’s 4-1/2 years.

This week was my company’s Christmas party.  Matt and I took advantage of this opportunity to get some much needed us time.  We had so much fun I didn’t really get to snap any pictures.  Since I’m new to this position this was my first time meeting everyone from the other newspaper offices.  I’m naturally a keep-to-myself type of person so these types of situations always stress me out a little.  Thank goodness for Matt and his social butterfly ways because I probably would have opted out of the party if I had to go on my own.  I do love an excuse to get dressed up though.  I paired these Lulus Suede Heels (I’ve been so obsessed with these shoes since I got them) with burgundy tights, my black pleated skirt, and my gray polka dot sweater.

This week was also Addie’s preschool Christmas Party.  It broke my heart to tell Addie that I wouldn’t be able to make it because I had to be at work.  She didn’t really understand and got all teary-eyed. After some tears shed by mommy and a lot of mom guilt I picked her up that night happy as could be.  Man that was tough on me, though.

Check out my post on how that party made me realize just where my mom guilt is coming from.

Having a daughter who goes to preschool, daycare, and participates in dance, as well as a husband who teaches means our house is full of delicious Christmas treats.  This mama is going to have to amp up her workouts.

Matt decided he wanted to head to Galena, IL to pick up some delicious meats and cheeses from Galena River Wine and Cheese.  That place is amazing btw.  Galena is such a beautiful Midwest town and we love spending a day here and there wandering in and out of the shops there.

Five Guys was one of our favorite burger and fry places to eat when we lived in NY.  So when we heard Dubuque was getting one we could barely contain our excitement.  They finally opened so you know we were all over that for lunch.

After a day running around I unwound with some tea and honey.  The Vanilla Comoro tea from Harvey & Sons Fine Teas is one of my favorites.  I also couldn’t wait to try my Lavender Honey from Galena River Wine and Cheese.  It was delicious by the way.

After this crazy week, I am exhausted but so excited for Christmas to be here.  Addie is even more excited this year and seeing Christmas through her eyes has been so magical. So now I’m going to muster up the energy to wrap a few more presents so I’m not up until midnight tomorrow night.  I hope your Christmas is full of family, love, laughter and more blessings than you can count.  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from my family to yours.

I’d love to hear about your Chaotic Christmas Week And all the holiday cheer! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram so you can see what we’re up to over the Christmas weekend!
